The community event will showcase top local amateurs and professional players, competing for prizes, trophies and the designation "ASPEN'S BEST". In addition to the pickleball tournament, there will be a medical professional to provide free cancer education, and preventive screening appointments.

THE 2027 ASPEN VALLEY PICKLEBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS HONORS THE MEMORY OF ADORA SPATZ SAUER AND OUR LOVED ONES LOST TO CANCER
Adora passed away after a five-year battle with breast cancer. She is the daughter of Aspen locals Marilee and Larry Spatz, and the sister of Colorado residents Linzy Upton-Spatz and former Aspen city councilman, Skippy Upton Mesirow,
Adora was committed to using her legal knowledge to help victims of violence and terrorism. She began her law career representing victims of domestic violence, as an Illinois Assistant State's Attorney.Further in her career, as an international civil rights attorney, she expanded her representation and advocacy to supporting wounded U.S. veterans and victims of international terrorism.
Adora, in a landmark case, represented the U.S. civilian and military victims of the Khobar Towers bombing in Saudi Arabia. Her class action suit resulted in a historic $1.3B judgment against Iran, benefiting the victims of the bombing.
When Adora passed, she was representing and advocating for hostages and their families, victims of the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel. Many days she did this from a hospital bed. Sadly, she didn't live to see the hostages freed.
Adora's life was defined by compassion, courage and an unwavering commitment to justice and human rights.
